About
Informal Reading is a project by Candice Ng and Ng Si Ying
Informal Reading is a selection of texts compiled to investigate the practice of design. The list and themes are derived from personal interests and study, hence it does not intend to be an exhaustive representation of the field. Initially conceptualised as a mini publication, it has shifted to become an online repository instead.

Each series seeks to spur further dialogue and critical thinking within the education and practice of design—amongst students, educators, professionals or anyone interested in design's larger socio-political context and impact.

Thinking is a way of being.
– Hannah Arendt.

There is a notion of judgment that comes through thinking and dialogue which leads to the ability for discernment and reflection. The ever changing contexts of design today calls for greater understanding, deliberation and foresight in our thinking and making. We hope this platform will provide the right conditions to continually keep us at learning, and we welcome all who are interested to join us in this process.
